Furthermore, Ethiopia has been negotiating with other countries to sign new bilateral trade cooperative agreements. We also have started negotiation with Nigeria to replace the existing agreement.
The objective Ethiopia’s bilateral Trade Cooperative Agreements is to work cooperatively and take trade facilitation measures to create favorable conditions for substantial and harmonious diversification of trade between signatory countries. The measures may include organizing trade promotion programs, sharing experiences, convening official meetings to consult on the diversification tradable products and increasing the volume of trade and solving trade related despites.
However, the trade facilitation measures do not included tariff elimination/reduction measures. Ethiopia’s provisions of all bilateral trade cooperative agreements are compatible with the domestic laws and they are implanting based on laws and regulations of the signatory countries.
