The concept of African continental free trade started in 1960s when Africa was asked for liberation from colonialism and has passed through different negotiation and agreement processes.
The concept of free trade is linked to the establishment of the African Union and Agenda 2063 and its objective is to develop Intra-Africa trade said by Ministry of Trade and Further Relations Mr. Tages Mulugeta, the representative of International Trade and regional integrations explained that when the continental free trade agreement is implemented, it will create a wide and predictable market for our country by creating reliable and wide opportunities for cost products, finding alternative products at better prices and quality, strengthening the local product link and increasing international competitiveness.
