Ethiopia is preparing to become a member of the World Trade Organization in the next three years.

Addis Ababa 16/04/2016 Minister of Trade and Regional Integrations Mr. Gebremeskel Chala stated that Ethiopia is preparing to join the World Trade Organization in the next three years.

The minister said that Ethiopia will complete its accession process until 2026 and as part of the accession procedure goods and services offer, income trading license processing information; governmental business organizations information, legislative action plan, as well as foreign trade subsidies and agricultural products support documents are being completed.

Mr. Gebremeskel explained that Ethiopia has received 181 questions from member countries in the fourth round of negotiations and the negotiation questions are being made to improve the current tax rate of 14 percent in the 5th round of negotiations.

The newly formed National Committee that leads the World Trade Organization membership negotiations and further trade ties has held a discussion today.
